The latter half of the season focuses on the **Viking raid on Paris**, which proves to be a brutal and costly endeavor. Ragnar, gravely wounded, devises a cunning plan—he pretends to be dead and is carried inside the city walls in a coffin. Once inside, he springs to life, allowing his warriors to storm the city. The season ends with **Rollo** staying behind in France while Ragnar sails home, revealing that he knows Floki killed Athelstan.
